Former Feyenoord legend John de Wolf joins coaching staff

Brooklyn, May 16 2017 - New York Dutch Lions FC is pleased to announce that former Feyenoord legend John de Wolf is joining the coaching staff of the New York Dutch Lions FC All Star Team in the game vs New York Cosmos B on June 16 at 6pm @MCU Park.

John de Wolf spent his youth soccer career at Schiedamse Boys before joining Sparta Rotterdam, where he made his debut in the first team in 1983. He transferred to FC Groningen in 1985 where he played 112 games in 4 years. After Groningen De Wolf returned to Rotterdam and went to play for Feyenoord between 1989 and 1994, where he became a true cult figure playing 111 games. At Feyenoord he won three National Cups, the first edition of the Johan Cruijff Trophy and one National Championship. He also played the semifinal of the Europe Cup II in 1992-1993. Then he decided to play abroad and signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in England, where he played between 1994 and 1996. He played his final years of his professional career at VVV Venlo (1996-1997), Happoel Ashkelon (1997-1998) and Helmond Sport (1998-2000). De Wolf also played six times for the Dutch National team.
