Bryan Roy also joining NYDL FC All Stars

Brooklyn, June 17, 2018 - New York Dutch Lions FC's is thrilled to announce that Bryan Roy was also added to the 2018 All Star Team.

Bryan Roy started his professional playing career with Ajax in 1987 where he played 126 games scoring 17 goals. In November 1992 he was traded to the Italian club Foggia.During his time there, he also represented the Dutch National Team at the 1994 World Cup in the USA, scoring once as the Netherlands reached the quarter-finals. After the World Cup, he moved to England to play for Nottingham Forest.He helped the newly promoted side finish at an impressive third place in the Premiership and qualify for the UEFA Cup. After three years, 85 games and 24 goals Roy moved to Germany to play for Bundesliga club Hertha BSC. After three years of Berlin where he played 50 games he then returned to his homeland to play for NAC Breda in 2001. He had a brief comeback in 2004 with a short stint at Workington AFC in England where he played 9 games and scored 2 goals. Roy won the UEFA Cup in 1992 with Ajax and played 32 games for the Dutch National Team, scoring 9 goals. He was also awarded “Most talented player” of the Netherlands in 1987.
