After spending his youth career at AGOVV, Jan Krompkamp made his professional debut for Go Ahead Eagles in 1998. After two seasons and 61 games, he signed with AZ Alkmaar, where he played 133 games scoring 7 goals. During that time he also made his debut fort he Dutch National Team. Based on his performance he signed with Spanish club Villareal but after only 6 games he was traded to Liverpool where he played the remainder of the 2006 season. He was then sold to PSV Eindhoven, where he played 68 games in 5 years before returning to his old club Go Ahead Eagles where played his last two years before retiring at the age of 33. He played a total of 11 games fort he Dutch National Team. He was also part of the 2006 World Cup team. Kromkamp won the FA Cup once with Liverpool and the Dutch National Championship twice with PSV.
