Sonny Silooy

Sonny Silooy was part of the very successful squad of Ajax Amsterdam, playing more than 260 games for the club over a period of 14 years. Silooy also played two years for Matra Racing (France) and two years for Arminia Bielefeld (Germany) before ending his career at De Graafschap in the Netherlands. Silooy won the Dutch National Championship seven times, the Dutch CUP four times, The Europa CUP once, the UEFA CUP once, the UEFA Super CUP once, the Champions League once and the World CUP once. He also played 25 games for the Dutch National Team between 1983 and 1993. He was the first Head Coach of Dayton Dutch Lions FC when they started in 2010, before signing with DC United of MLS as Manager of their Youth Academy and Assistant Coach of the MLS team, where he stayed three years.
